And while the folks behind MesaMar can’t bring signage to eye level, they can put you eye to eye with your dinner. The catch of the day is packed on ice in the dining room, then fried and served whole. If you like a slightly less-personal experience with your seafood, try the mixed seafood ceviche with passion fruit.

Introducing MesaMar, Coral Gables’ Newest Dining Destination

MesaMar is the new brainchild of chef Lilia “Fifi” Molina and Felipe Valls. Both Chef Fifi and Felipe are passionate about providing local, high-quality, fresh seafood to their patrons. With more than a 10 years of experience working in the culinary world, Fifi has fostered relationships with the Miami’s best fish mongers, foragers and purveyors around Miami to bring her customers the best quality ingredients she can find.

Located in the heart of Coral Gables, MesaMar prides itself on providing its customers with a menu filled with ocean-fresh seafood that reflects not only its South Florida roots but also infuses Asian and Latin flavors throughout.

The inventive menu MesaMar features bold and bright flavors. Dishes rotate due to seasonality and availability but expect dishes like thinly sliced sashimi made with salmon and tuna tossed in a ponzu and yuzu dressing topped with dry miso, olive oil, green shallots and crispy garlic chips; lobster tacos filled with bite-sized lobster marinated in tangy dressing and sweet chili sauce, and topped with cilantro and red onion; and sweet miso black cod baked in a sweet miso sauce and linguini and clams tossed in garlic sauce.

Don’t worry meat lovers, MesaMar has plenty of dishes for you as well. Items like the South American favorite pinchos made in a Venezuelan style, brushed in our signature “Fifi” sauce and served with delicious boiled potatoes; delicious cuts of filet mignon cooked to order and served with fiocchi, and of course, plenty of homemade desserts, will please any palate.

The city of Coral Gables is warm, beautiful and inviting, and the same look is on display at MesaMar. The MesaMar space is decorated in soft blue tones, tasteful wood decor that brings a relaxed elegance to the space.
